Siglo in Tagaytay: Where Tradition Meets Charm
If you're looking for a place in Tagaytay that brings together heritage, good food, and beautiful ambiance, Siglo should be on your list.
We dropped by this charming spot tucked along the road, and right off the bat, we were welcomed by the homey, locally inspired interiors. From the capiz lanterns and woven ceiling panels to the Filipino crafts and wooden furniture, it felt like a nostalgic nod to a lumang bahay aesthetics—with a modern touch.
The vibe? Super relaxed. You can choose to sit outside under a roof of native lamps and hanging greens or enjoy the air-conditioned dining area with vintage elements and a cozy bar setup.
What stood out even more was the staff—super warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. You can tell they’re proud of the Filipino dishes they serve.
Now for the food!
We ordered:
-
Dinuguan with Puto – A Filipino classic done right. Rich, flavorful, and balanced. The puto was soft and paired well with
the savory stew.
- Beef Curry (at least that’s what we’re calling it) – Not your usual curry. It had that hearty, slightly spicy kick with fall-off-the-bone beef and a beautiful plating with edible flowers. Honestly, a star dish.
Even the presentation was Instagram-worthy. Colorful plates, banana leaves, and a lot of local touches made everything look festive.
And don’t miss the small café inside! Whether you're into tea, coffee, or something stronger like craft beers, they’ve got something for you to sip on. A great bonus if you're planning to chill a little longer after your meal.
Siglo isn’t just about food—it’s an experience. It’s the kind of place you bring friends from out of town to, or where you go when you want to reconnect with heritage over a good meal. Definitely worth the stop.
